Hi and welcome to my online art gallery! My name is Valerie and I specialize in creating custom portraits of people using two very different mediums. Working from your photographs, I can create traditional hand-drawn pencil portraits as well as digitally hand-drawn color portraits on a computer. Traditional Pencil Portrait: Using a combination of artist grade graphite, charcoal and carbon pencils on fine Velum paper I create 100% hand drawn, black and white heirloom portraits that will be cherished for generations to come. Modern Digital Portrait: For people who prefer portraits in "Technicolor", I draw digital portraits using a special pen on my Wacom tablet, Photoshop CS4 (software) and my computer. These portraits are also 100% hand drawn and have a more modern look to them. Since these portraits are digital files, they can then be reproduced similarly to a photograph or simply printed off a printer. My family portraits, both digital and pencil, make wonderful gifts for a christening, birthday, new baby, wedding or anniversary, Valentine's day, Christmas, graduation, family gathering and many other special occasions.
